BrightStar Care has been working with families since 2002 to provide dependable, supportive private duty home care for people of all ages.  Our "BrightStar story" began with the  founder's own frustration at not knowing where to turn to give an aging relative the quality of care and quality of life she deserved. She created BrightStar as a result of her personal experience.  The same is true of all of us who are part of the 340 (and growing) BrightStar Care locations in the US today. Sooner or later, we all need to find quality care for ourselves or someone we love. There's a compelling story in how we all became part of the BrightStar Care team. 

Michigan is home to 10 BrightStar Care agencies. From the UP to the city of Detroit and south, we are proud of our unique differences from other care providers and the BrightStar devotion to quality care for our clients. We provide both medical and non-medical care to our clients wherever they reside. We provide companion care, personal care to assist with daily living, and skilled care should the care of a nurse professional be needed.  We do this by providing a higher standard of care that has earned us Joint Commission Accreditation and high client statisfaction. BrightStar was created to be different, and we are proud of our differences. 

Our 10 Michigan BrightStar Care agencies share the pride of being named the only homecare company in the US to receive the "Enterprise Champion Award for Excellence" by the Joint Commission for 13 consecutive years!  BrightStar Care is the only homecare company in the Joint Commission's 70 year history to be awarded this honor.

We provide premium, personalized care in any setting. We do this by using care experts on our professional care team, led by a Director of Nursing (an RN) skilled in providing expert, compassionate and personal care.  We are considered Care Experts due to our screening, training and oversight practices required by the Joint Commission. To receive this strict accreditation, all hospitals are tested with rigorous on-sight inspections and monitoring like the Mayo Clinic as well as our own hospitals here in Michigan such as Ascension, Henry Ford,  Beaumont, and St. Joe Mercy Hospitals.

When visiting your hospital, look for the big Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission in their lobbies.  These strict rules govern all we do for our BrightStar Care clients.  You will find that same gold medallion on the wall of every Michigan BrightStar Care office. From our hiring practices, to the everyday principles of kindness in our care,  we are proud of our strict principles for quality care.

I have been privileged to be part of the BrightStar team of eight agencies here in Michigan for the past 11 years.  My very first day with the team was spent hosting a continuing education program at the War Memorial in Grosse Pointe, hosted by BrightStar of Grosse Point in collaboration with Wayne State's Institute of Gerontology.

 It was a perfect location. An audience of eastside residents, as well as nurses and social workers from area hospitals, packed the room, mesmerized by the presentation on "Difficult Conversations" -- how to speak with patients or their loved ones about delicate health issues.  Today we are proud to continue our partnership with the IOG to sponsor these CEU opportunities for the communities we serve and the health care professionals we work with.  All Michigan BrightStar Care owners are proud participants in our ongoing joint Wayne State / IOG educational support for nurses and social workers in our areas.
